ANOTHER ACTION DAY: ACACIA TREE TRIMMING

MEANWHILE, IN MAUI WE HAD SEVERAL HUNDRED PANYX TREES PLANTED

Yesterday was another action day at Eagle’s Nest, the name of our property in Scottsdale, AZ. This time, it was our neighbor’s Acacia trees that needed to be trimmed – the parts that were overhanging our property and home.  Their roots are very close to the wall between our property, and their crowns overhang our house.

With the summer monsoon season looming, we did not relish the idea of some of these limbs falling on our roof. Besides, their droppings junk up our yard year round.  The last time they were trimmed was about eight years ago.  Now they were towering again over our house.  So it was time to do it again.

So a four-man crew showed up mid-morning. They were very good. In less than two hours they trimmed these 40-ft giants. Here are some action shots…

Here’s also an illustration of how nature renews itself.

The photo on the left was taken 20 months ago when we had two large Mesquite trees trimmed right down almost to the fence (see TREE TRIMMING ACTION DAY AT EAGLE’S NEST, Sep 2013). The other two photos of the same tree were taken from two different angles.  The Mesquite is now looking beautifully rejuvenated.

The arborist whose crew trimmed the Acacias yesterday commented about these two Mesquites.

“Oh, these will be now very strong trees,” he said looking at them admiringly.

While we were having the Acacia trees trimmed at Eagle’s Nest in Arizona, our landscaper was planting several hundred Panyx trees as a natural fence between the two parts of the Rainbow Shower in Maui.

Here are some of those action shots I just got from him…

TREE TRIMMING ACTION DAY AT EAGLE’S NEST

A man in our “Owl tree?” Yes. It is not a mirage. Today was a tree-trimming day at Eagle’s Nest. And not just any itsy-bitsy trees.  One huge (above) and two big Mesquite trees have been cut back to about the roof level of our house. It was the first time in at least 10 years …
